… and it’s time to start making lots of festive bits and pieces to sell at the events I have planned.  Basically I have 3 sales lined up all within 10 days, so not ideal timing – it will be a challenge to make sure I have enough stock for them all.  That, of course, assumes they are all going to be really successful – fingers crossed.

Firstly there is a craft fair at work on 21 November, then I have been invited to have a table at a Christmas Gift Fair on 24 November at Chatsmore High School in Goring and then on 1 December I will be at the Norfolk Putting Green Cafe in Littlehampton.

I did my first half day ‘minding’ Crafter’s Corner at Traders Indoor Market last Wednesday and it was a really pleasant afternoon with nice company and some members of the public having a browse.  Made a few sales including 2 of my brooches which was really pleasing.  I’m beginning to see what is selling best so there is more focus to my creative hours.

Isn’t it funny how some days you can make lots in a short space of time and others you really struggle?  My other half was out for 4 hours last night so I had absolute peace and quiet and made 7 brooches, tonight it looks like the ironing, sandwich making and getting myself together for the week ahead will take precedence!!  I do find it quite frustrating that my hobby comes second to all the other things that need to be done.  Never mind, should get some time tomorrow evening.

If you read my last post you won’t be surprised to learn that at 9.50am last Sunday, when my stall was all set up under it’s gazebo near Littlehampton seafront and we were eagerly waiting for the first customers to arrive, the wind began to blow!  My lovely display was instantly a mess.  Thankfully, our organiser, Jan, hastily found us a table inside the Putting Green Cafe and we started again!!  As the next hour passed, other stalls found themselves re-located inside, away from the elements.

Despite the weather, which  must have put many people off venturing out,  my first foray into the world of craft fairs could not have gone better with a profit being made at the end of the day and some lovely comments from customers and fellow crafters.  It has given me a real boost and encouragement for next Saturday at Bartie’s Boutique in St Paul’s Church, Chapel Road, Worthing.

Another real positive from last Sunday was the opportunity to sell my ‘creations’ at a new outlet in Littlehampton which Jan has just set up.  Crafters Corner is in Traders Indoor Market, The Sorting House, Clifton Road.  The market is full of lovely antiques and art and now lots of local crafts too.  I set up my shelf on Tuesday and will be taking a turn in the ‘shop’ in a couple of weeks.  I’m really pleased to find another place to sell and I can pop in at lunchtimes to add stock, rearrange etc. Now all we need is lots of customers!!
